There will not be morning practice for tomorrow ! Because there won't be teachers around, and there wasn't any announcement made regarding to this last practice.
Sorry for this late post for those who doesn't know. It's a miscommunication that I would like to apologise. There will be more updates on morning practices soon. Thanks.

Dear BAND,

It's exactly 15 days to SYF ! I'm sure there's a certain level of excitement in most of you people already !
Now, this SYF competition is one of the major events in any band's history.
Every band will be waiting for this moment to come, and sad to say, some had missed their chance of participating and they'll have to wait for 2 more years.
In the past, KCB had missed one of the syf competitions due to sars, it was really a pity. But now, through all and all we've experienced, these are stepping stones to success (:
And the upcoming success I'm sure of will be on 9 April, the very day itself !
And band, I want you all to know that, success doesn't come overnight. You guys have to really really work hard, put in all the efforts that you've never did before, be independent and learn your scores.
I know some of you are really working hard, really putting in the effort, I'm very very glad to know that :D
For those who haven't been putting in much effort, START TODAY. It's not too late, it's never too late if you have the heart to do it (:
If we can pull through the difficult times together as a band, we can taste success as one too !

This SYF competition will be a first time experience for the sec 1s and 2s, and the 2nd time for the rest.
I just want you all to enjoy the moment on stage, don't think about the outcome. Most importantly, it's the moments spent together as one that matters.
And how do we achieve that ?
Focus, Concentration, Practice HARD, Memorise your scores, Train up your air, Build up your tone etc
= TONE BLEND BALANCE
We've been training for months just for that few minutes on stage. Now that the competition's coming, we have to press on! Only 15 more days to success !
& SLs, do settle certain things within your sections. You guys are SLs for a reason, you have the potential to build up your section. Be it the tone or the unity. Bring your potential out, Section Leaders.
Sometimes it takes time and hard work to tune each and every single one of them in the section and to ensure every individual has a nice intonation, but don't forget that at the end of the day, it'll benefit them and they'll be the ones who do you proud ! Alright ?

A note to the sec 4s,
Hah, I believe it's kinda sad for us huh ? It'll be the last for most of us, our last lap. But don't give up on music !
Those that are really into it, work hard for it after O levels ! After syf, we'll all step down as one. And during POP night, it'll be official. Treasure the times you have with each other, but work hard for your Os at the same time.

Lastly, I just want to say that this band, KCB will be my love forever.
<3

hello hello!!!
homework for today, haha =)

- tell me your linkies!
- memorize both SYF pieces.
- think about paying the hand rank & badges thinggy,
we'll discuss about it more on thursday.
. hand rank - $5.50 & above
. Badges $7 or $8
- Pay $5 for the band fund this thurs, if not double =/
- Percussion Section to pay $10 for 'the beatles'
- By this thurs, everyone have to hand in your answers for the 3 questions, if not i don't know wat the majors will do.
. 1) What works for you to motivate you?
. 2) What do you like about band?
. 3) What do you think should change in band?

ooooookay done! =)

KCBanders!! pls pls pls remember wat Mr Sim taught us today,
recall it every single day!
then have sectionals on it this thursday,
even if you noe already,
practice a few more times.
it will get better & better,
it's just that you don't know you're getting better each time you play.
those sections that Mr Sim ask you all to play together for intonation,
please do it this thursday during sectionals.

left 7 more practices to SYF,
are you sure you ppl still want to slack??
you ppl want a gold medal right?
but with this kind of attitude, slow progress & not focusing,
do you think we can even get silver??
get on work for this few more weeks,
let your lips work like hell for this few more weeks,
you will feel the great success after that.
it is really worth it banders!!
ADD OIL!!!!!!!!

Wednesday, 7 March 2007

hello everyone!!
=D

IGNITE D'AMORE is a success for all of us.
and it will be a stepping stone for all band members.
in future, we'll hold even greater, nicer and more professional concert!!
yeah?

and the band camp, i'm sorry for the lack of planning.
i know there's a lot of times when you all had nothing to do, felt bored or felt that the camp sucks.
i'm so sorry.
and i definitely know that there's room for improvement.
so the next band camp, the next batch of leaders better make it a good one!

and to all the juniors!
the sec 4s are stepping down soon after the syf in april.
we hope that all of you will be like us, enjoy yourselves and have fun through these whole 4 or 5 years in band!!
yeah, indeed band is really fun.

Hey !

Ignite D' Amore tomorrow ! Work hard alright ? (:
Relax, and enjoy yourselves on stage tomorrow ! Be confident and we will make it possible.
Recall the fundamentals, the teachings by mr sim and we will be great.
KCB has gone through much much obstacles to take up Mr Low's challenge which is the concert itself.
And no, this is not the end point of our journey, but just one of the check points in the band's history, for the next few batches, generations, everything to keep the band's reputation up there.
Relax, go up there and play it confidently, show it to the 600 audience out there what KCB has got in them.
Woodgrove band major admired our spirit, let's keep it going on and touch more hearts of others.
I wish everyone good luck tomorrow, including myself, and the main key is to enjoy yourselves !
YOU CAN DO IT (:

Reminder :
Please pack according to the packlist attached to your consent form earlier on. Band room will be opened on Friday morning, 7am to 7.20am. Please move your stuffs up within that time. And also ensure you've got everything needed for the concert night with you. Your footwear, tops and bottoms.
Thanks

Jayne.
